problem with slug ammo

everytime i run out of regular shotgun ammo im unable to use the slug ammo, even though it switches automatically for my friends.

Look down and it should prompt you to switch ammo. Same goes for bows if you run out of one type of arrow.

for future people....look down towards your waist and you'll get the ammo change prompt.
