Me and friend in different seasons

So me and my friends are playing and the leader has to leave and we all saved in winter and for some reason i end up in autumn and they are in winter. Annoyingly we set up our base next to a lake and the cannables can cross but i cant fight them. Is there a way to fix this or will I always be a season behind?
