Too many enemies?
I feel like the cannibals are almost too abundant. The time between start, and your first encounter with the cannibals is such a short window and you are surrounded or followed constantly and not just by one or two theres multiple. They are simply everywhere. I feel like this hinders exploration, curiosity, and mystery. Especially for new comers to the series.

the problem i find it, how many times they attack you per day,

Soon as you kill them all. go back into ur base and heal up or eat food, theres anther wave right back outside,

soon as u go cut a tree, there a army comming at you.

theres no room for anything, your always fighting,

this game needs a 7 days to die system, its nice to be only attacked every 7 days, with the blood moon,

here im always getting attacked by groups nonestop endless waves it feels like,
they just keep comming and comming and send more and more

I don't have issues with the number of cannibals. I do have issues with how many mutants are in the caves. Being solo and running into 6 fingers and a dozen blind mutants in narrow pitch black caves is not easy. You literally have to be fully armored up, cheese them as much as possible, and get as many different kind of ranged weapons you can get. Then you get destroyed by babies who seem to always come in groups of 6. Getting supplies without cheesing the save/reload that respawns items seems impossible.

From what I've played, and from what I've read other people saying, you are most certainly in the minority here.

False.
I tried to be peaceful with them and they massively attacked and followed me on Day 1.
My entire evening for 2 in-game days was simply running from my life while trying to loot herbs and being 3 shot by the crawling muddy cannibals.
And my settings were at low for damage and aggressiveness.
So there is clearly a bug to fix about this.
sounds like a bug cause i didnt really get attacked till day 5 and i was left alone after i shot em and left em on the ground injured
didnt really start getting raided till day 10 but i guess the fact i live on the beach has something to do with it

I guess you haven't tried it yourself. Started over again because of the constant attacks... even with aggression turned down the attacks never stop.

I don't have this issue either. And with a crafted bow and stone arrows the enemies are still very easy to kill.

The mutant that rolls around is really the only annoying thing to kill as it likes to target my buildings.

My experience so far has been that you will have to fend off the enemies (eventually) no matter what you do IF you build in a certain part of the map. I started over a bunch of times trying different things and eventually they'd always become hostile and I'd be fighting off several waves a day. Until I decided to build my base up on this ledge on the side of a mountain. I rarely ever got attacked there. I later decided to explore up in the mountains and was up there for days and never saw anyone. Seems that the farther you get from the ground level those cannibals live on the less they will mess with you. Of course it's annoying because you don't have as many plants and animals for food up in the mountains so it's a trade off I suppose. I put a small animal trap up there and it basically didn't ever catch anything. I also found that when I started a custom game and set it up to start in the winter I didn't get attacked that much until spring which gave me some time to build my base up. I guess mud isn't good winter gear?

By the time a friend and I got to Day 10 it was just dumb. We had attempted to be as stealthy and passive as possible only killing when we couldn't escape an attack. Only two or three total killed above ground by the end of day 9. The next day the gates of hell were opened. We awoke at base to find ourselves rapidly killing enemies that came to attack our base in only a couple seconds each and had no more than a few seconds between killing an enemy or an entire wave and the next batch arriving out of thin air because they just magi-spawn near you. Even without having to heal and having plenty of food and drinks on us we barely had time to craft arrows and be ready to leave again only to see the next wave arriving as if on cue.

Yes, we (two players and Virginia on the infini-gat) spent an entire in game day doing NOTHING but fighting non-stop because the enemies just kept on spawning as soon as they all died. It felt like a hundred of all the types of enemies and it just wouldn't stop so I shut the game off because it was both easy to kill them and boring ONLY having to fight without end to protect our base. We simply couldn't progress because we couldn't leave base without it surely being leveled.

So put me in with the pack who is saying that enemies spawn rate ramps to too high of a level once they do start attacking your base. No this isn't a skill issue, neither of us got downed, none of our base was destroyed, and knowing how to fight the different types of enemies makes them easily manageable.... it's just bad game design that you could EVER get locked into nonstop defense under any circumstances even in hardmode.

Been building near one of the smaller lakes and literally see maybe one every few days. I was gonna complain that the spawn rate wasn't high enough, to be honest. Apparently I'm the only one.

Solo? Multiplayer? How many? What day?

When I first starting playing on Normal, I'd say 10 min into the game on day 1, I had like 3 of those dirty skinny's on me. I understand its EA, but damn. I literally had no time to explore before they started following me and attacking me.

Had you used the red mask and avoided any conflict you can complete this entire game without killing or being attacked by a single cannibal. They leave you alone completely until you mess with them. If they appear at your camp, go somewhere else. If you just stand there like an idiot, yes they will attack you then the cycle begins.

I'm curious why you would make a base. What are you hoping to achieve at your base? YOu can't store anything. You'll use more resources trying to defend a base than you would simply moving to the next cave you need to explore, drop a tent and get crackin. If you want to play on peaceful, do so.

Build out in the water. Problem solved. They just stare at you from the beach. Problem is Kelvin does too. He gets attacked non stop but that is on him for being too dumb to walk in shallow water to your base.

YOu can't store anything
Yes you can. You can use shelving to store more than you can carry.

To be fair I think rule of the first one gratned I did most my gameplay of it in EA was never go home with a cannibal near you. They use to scout you, and one would run away and if he survived they would all know you base location. I did a few challange runs where I would never go back to base till I was sure nothing was following, got pretty far day wis with no attacks, but it was pretty challanging at first as the first as I didn't partrol routes they did so my first camps were pretty but always spoted in first couple days, and by end week 1 I was having to fight them off and they got bigger and bigger as I killed more.

YET In old one base was nice you could find locations that they didn't stumble on and just make sure nothing followed you home. and you could store tons of things there. Why you playing a base building survival if you don't want a base? Better off playing Left 4 Dead...
