Yet, I'm constantly harrased by 2-3 gold masked, about the same amount of skull masks and a few of the fat ones. I now literaly spend more time fighing them off and running away than actually playing the game.
I guess you haven't tried it yourself. Started over again because of the constant attacks... even with aggression turned down the attacks never stop.
I'm now building a base on a narrow cliff, so the enemies get close 1 at a time if at all, but this is not great place to build.
Same experience here. I went to a custom game after finding the cannibals way too aggressive, frequent, and abundant but it doesn't feel like it's made any difference at all. I did my best to avoid confrontation but had to defend myself and kill several of them after maybe just 20 minutes of playing. Then, of course, within the next day or two I was getting squads. The enemy type escalated rapidly, it's pretty much nothing but mutants now and I'm not even two weeks into the world.
I played the original game many times, the aggro feels way too high this time around. It's even worse seeing that cannibals can get into my base pretty much no matter what I do, meaning that killing is inevitable.
Most of them are easy to beat, you just dodge and do a heavy strike (did you know you could hold the left mouse button?) to decapitate them
I even set the camp at the mountains since there were rumours they are not coming there that often, bullsht.
This needs a rebalance, they shouldn't just spawn at you which is happening now.
Honestly, i liked when they were having some limit of cannibals in the first game, it could be balanced around that, just set the limit, and when they are less and less present just respawn some back.
Also there should be some conditions, when you open the caves or mess with the camp, there should be more or less.
