On the blueprints side, there's a lot of stuff I don't see so far and am hoping unlocks later. Example, no log sleds - which seems like something that you'd want early on.
No the 3D printed sled is for you to ride on like you could do with the sea turtle shell in The Forest.
I was hoping to do a hard mode solo run but wasn't sure about turning base destruction off or not. Better to feel more realistic if there are locations where your base can be more out of reach though.
Lesson learned. Reloaded save and made sure I was wandering at winter's turn instead of waking up for tea and crumpets at my cabin.
If that little wake up call was meant to tell me 'you've stayed in one place too long' .. I heard it loud and clear.
Just a word of warning. During winter WATER FREEZES AND CANNIBALS CAN GET TO YOU. It wasn't a fun surprise but as said earlier you can always migrate during winter.
Turning off base destruction is far more realistic imo. Near naked "humans" shouldn't be able to completely tear down a wood structure in minutes with their bare hands. They should design the game where there's two kinds of structures you can build. "Rickety" structures which you can build fast and cheap but are susceptible to being pulled apart, and "Quality" like you'd see a cabin built in real life that structurally can't be damaged or even entered if locked.
In the meantime, I've seen some innovative ideas, but they're ridiculous. For example, this one guy stacked one log on top of another other vertically, placed spikes around the one log base, and built a whole cabin on top of the one leg, which looked hilarious. Looked like a toothpick stuck in the ground topped with a playing card used as a foundation and a cabin built on top of the card. Magic must have been keeping it standing. Lol.
I'd rather turn off destruction than have to cheese the game. Problem in running into though is I can't even open my build menu for two seconds without being attacked. I feel it's a combination of picking bad spots and that I've killed A LOT of cannibals even though I'm only about 5 hours in. Must have killed hundreds, and while I don't know for sure, it seems like the more I kill the more there are AND the tougher and more strong they are. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Do the cannibals get stronger the more of them you kill?
no problems with invasions because i only needed a small section walled and spiked up
