The devs visited the real island, they fought hordes of mutants and uncoverd the secret that lies within the islands dark past. Which inspired them to make a game based on the things they experienced.

Yeah, it is called "JJ Abrams Theme Park", its a classic, just in middle of the bermudas triangle... Its supposed to be like a mix of Jurasic Park and IT.

Yes, it's an actual story which happened in 2019. The Puff corporation CEO, alongside his wife and daughter, went missing in an island the company purchased one year ago. Mercenary soldiers hired by the company went to the island in a rescue mission but crashed there, finding the island was full of violent cannibals and mutant monsters. We know it's real thanks to the report of a lone survivor, who managed to survive there for several weeks and even found a number of bunkers and hi-tech facilities on the island, where all kind of devious experiments took place.

The devs themselves have visited the island and confirmed all those facts.
