How do you keep the Hurt guy, "Kelvin", from chopping down the tree you are building the tree house in?

I saved my tree house. I just have him follow me away from the base now and telling him to clear the area. Brain injuries are what they are.

tell kelvin to go cut some wood for the tree house. kelvin sees the tree house tree and cuts it down for wood to build the tree house. logic

Tree houses were the most dangerous thing to build In the original game considering how easy it was for mutants to knock them down. I've seen no talk or experimentation done yet to confirm if that is still the case.

I'm assuming it is. Losing all your stuff because the tree fell is not ideal.

yeah he will get fish, but only if the water you are by has fish in it. I set up 5 drying racks and he goes to the river and gets the fish and puts them on the rack for me.
