weird noise

Me and my friend are based near a lake on the south eastern side of the island, and there was nothing like this until winter started, which we started hearing this weird echo noise coming from the other side of the lake, but there's nothing over there. Just wondering if anybody else has heard this too.

Ice often moves on a lake surface, causing a grinding/moaning sound as it rubs together.

Might have been a moose that was stuck under the ice.

I just went there and was wondering about it as well. It sounds like some massive creature under the ice. It echos throughout the area, but it's definitely centered around the frozen lake. No idea what is there (if anything yet). But it could just be a placeholder for future updates.

I don't see what place you are talking about, however with what you say, I imagine that the developers may have added an ambient sound of the vibrations of the frozen lake in winter.
Do you think this can be correct?

I heard the sounds too, though i assumed it's just the ice of the lake that "sings".

Heard that in game. As mentioned above i also believe it's sound of ice, ice can make some really peculiar and creepy noises.

I'm glad I'm not the only one hearing the weird echo noise. I'm right next to a smaller lake that connects to two more little lakes and when I went back in my single player to loot the heli again it started and I panicked myself into looking up what is was

this is actually what it sounded like, but it also had sounded as if a creature had made the noise as well, either way it did kinda give a cool vibe to the place during winter. I'm going to assume since it only makes the noise during winter it is probably the ice of the lake.

I hear this sound all the time in the winter, I think it's coming from somewhere in/on the mountain. My base is on the edge of a lake with a cave entrance on the other side (near the landing strip), I thought it was coming from that cave but I haven't checked anything

yea i have the same thing as well only started when it was winter. i think it might just have something to do with the ice
