You have to go in this folder location on your PC:
\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves\76561198019728029/ (if you can't find appdata, press Windows key + R and type %appdata%, then click appdata at the top)
Once you'll be in the file : 76561198019728029, you should have a file name Multiplayer and MultiplayerClient. Rename it to MultiplayerClient to Multiplayer. This will make them one file. Restart game and multiplayer should work.

This is what happened to me for a few days but this is what I did to fix it.

There is one problem with this though. You will lose all the progress you had on the server you were playing on. To fix this you need to put the wanted save file into the folder
I saw this from you on this and another post, it does not work the files don't exist as it has yet to successfully connect. Also that number will be different for each server.
Yea I think I misinterpreted the original comment. This seems like an entirely different issue than what I had to deal with.
At this point I have given up, as no one seems to care.
