Starting Location Question

Does the length of time you take to close the laptop in the helicopter determine your starting point on the island? I've made 3 save files, all three instinctively I quickly closed the laptop, all 3 saves i ended up on the beach. My mother, couldnt understand the buttons, took about a minute to close the laptop and ended up starting in a grassy clearing surrounded by woods.
