Light Sources are Terrible
The lighter and handheld fire torches in this game are useless during the night. I can't see 2 feet in front of me. Light doesn't just STOP at an exact line...

Anyone else think so? Or is it just me?

try going in a forest irl at night with a lighter see what you can see

They were bad in the first game as well. The flashlight is great, but the torch should have WAY better lighting than it currently does. I think I see less with the torch than I do with the lighter which makes no sense.

I walked 35km in the dark, down a road surrounded in forest on a cloudy, moonless night. Couldn't see my hands infront of my face. I ruined those sandals, man.

XDDDDDDDDD
I am sure they exagerated this to increase the terror feeling and certain jumpscares... while I understand it, I consider the effect too excesive, would be much better to consider adding some kind of fog effect randomly.

I get that, i mean handheld flame torches. The light they emit might as well just be the regular lighter itself.

Well that just sounds like a bad idea.

100% agree it was to create a more intense nighttime experience but it almost takes the fun out of it when you quite literally can't see anything :steamsad:

ahh ok then ye i guess you would hope using resources to make a torch would provide a benefit. There is a flashlight/torch you can find somewhere but idk if that is any use outside

I do agree that lighting from the torch needs a bit of work. I will also second that being in a forest at night with my phone's camera flash turned on as a light, while bright, was extremely hard to see my surroundings. It is like the dark envelopes you and feels like the darkness is trying to consume your light. It was freaky, and i loved it, my wife was terrified though.

the hand torches do feel accurate to me. I have used a hand torch before making one myself. It is so easy.
