the host need to go to his files
C:\x\x\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves
then copy multiplayer file and upload it to you
then you download it and then paste it to your saves
Did you just replace the entire folder?
so i copy my friend" multiplayer and steam_autocloud.vdf "files and paste them inside my long folder (C:\x\x\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves\76561198082607146)
and after that launch game then go to multiplayer then press host you will find his save
Thanks for the reply again!
I also created a single player campaign and placed a tarp and made a save. Then I had a Multiplayer AND MultiplayerClient folder in the save folder. I pasted the save files into the Multiplayer folder and then it worked
I suspect the game is zipping the folder with some kind of checksum or something, but pouring through all the other surrounding files it doesnt show anything that might be the case.
Only clue is when starting the game and trying to load the Host - Continue server (that i modified and rezipped with my character), the Player.log file shows an error that GameSaveStateData.json doesnt exist in the zip, but it definitely does.
Alas
