I keep spawning in snow biome

Playing via family share, whatever I do i keep spawning in snow biome. I restarted it 50 times, i manually closed laptop on different spots, heli crashes in beach/forest area but then screen freezes for a second and im in snow biome.

I don't understand anyone can help?

I believe it's random to a extent, but it is possible that how fast you close the computer has some input. Still testing.

Finally, I have waited few minutes then closed the laptop, it worked. Thanks man.

I'm having the same problem. I don't think the helo ride has anything to do with spawn. I've waited. I've tried to time it's with the biomes you see out window. And still only a mountain snow spawn. I think it's a random generation but you have to already survive a day or so to be able to go to another Boones or something but waiting and timing doesn't work. I'm stuck with having to spawn in snow

I tried restarting 20 times as i wanted to see what affected the spawn location. Every single time I spawned on the beach no matter how long I waited in the helicopter, and no matter if i skipped the scenes or not by holding "S". Kinda sad to as I wanted to see if i liked the forest crash site or the mountain crash site better or for more of a challenging start.

I even tried deleting a bunch of data like another post suggested. This did nothing to alter my spawn location.

I'm starting to think being 'random' only applies to what the game thinks of you at any given time.
Yesterday I started on the beach, once. I went through like normal and then Kelvin got 1-shot by a cannibal. I rage quit and waited til today to restart.
Now I can't get anything but the Snow spawn all day today.
Not sure what the damn algorithm they're using to decide spawns, but something seriously needs to change.

The game has seasons. After 10 days it seems like it changes biomes.

I know. We're talking about the initial first spawn after the Heli crash.
Didn't know things changed that fast. I'm hoping that with me setting the season start from Spring, I can get a bit more time out of it.

did you play on the same difficulty every time? from what ive heard the beach is easy, the mouintain is normal/custom, and you spawn in the ocean on hard

I Didn't even know that this was a thing... i spawn on the mtn all the time... using custom?

same issue. I slept on day 8 and on day 9 everything was covered in snow. Everywhere I go it is covered in snow.

When there is snow pack it is a bit difficult to find items

Ok, I sorted this out last night as I was having the same issue and it was driving me mad! You CAN NOT just quit to menu and start again. The randomness isn't linked to the game session.

To get it to work with a new random spawn point YOU MUST FULL SHUT DOWN AND RESTART THE GAME. The random location resets every time you boot the game back up not when you go to main menu.
