Died and lost backpack but can't seem to find it

Not sure if this is a bug but when I spawned at the Cannibal camp I grabbed my yellow backpack thing then ran back to my safe area I'm building with my friend. He say's there's a backpack on me and streamed to show me but I can't use it. It keeps telling me to retrieve it first. Any idea if this is a bug or where the backpack is? Any info would help please

It literally shows as a huge orange/yellow ! on your screen. It isnt even really a backpack more of a tarp wrapped up looking like a pillow :)

i think the yellow backpack you picked up is the only one. I don't think you drop anything where you died. I've only died twice, though, so idk

I got lucky. got cap and retrive the very large i didnt know I have yellow backpack. Kavin tank for me and almost die. I pick him up and ran. We survived. Item saved

yellow backpack seems to be always on the same spot for me on "respawn" however its not an intuitive place.

If you are unable, try looking for the tents where loot spam, I know there is some backpacks models there, not sure if you could intereract with then not having a backpack on (having it makes those look like an static prop)

My friend has the same exact problem. Whenever he spawns back after he dies, the backpack is still on him, but he cannot use his inventory. He also can't seem to find his backpack or inventory, as there is no orange mark on the map. If you find a solution to this problem, please let me know. The only way we were able to fix this problem was to quit the game unsaved, so that we were able to get his loot back from the previous day that was saved.

You need to HOLD "E" and not just press it, that might be your issue.
Also, not that if you die (get knocked out) and then brought to a cannibal camp, then if you die again, you actually die for good. You will see your character with red background saying "you survived x days" etc., then it forces you to reload your game.

Yeah me and my friend picked up the re breather, and all of a sudden he cant open or use his bag, no marker on the map or anything. He cant even open stuff on the floor. If anyone finds a solution to this please reply

The rebreatherbug is if you open your Backpack after picking up the rebreather before the animation for the rebreather is finished. Your backpack is gone you need to get a savegame from your buddies or start fresh.

I found a solution: If you enter your save datas via appdata in windows r, and click through there till you got a lot of white data files. Then you can go ahead and delete the files with player in it. There even is a single data that describes our problem. If you delete this the world isnt fully lost and you just have to get your stuff back, but you are able to use the inventory again.
