Destroy building?

Placed a lean to, now i want to destroy it because i built a cabin...
I have destroy buildings off,I'm assuming that doesnt just pertain to the enemy?
Tried beating it with the axe. Doesnt work.

you can take pieces off by holding C, but you have to sorta do it in order like start at the roof and work your way down the construction
