"I did everything in the comments above and it didn't work with me"
This seems to have multiple causes and may take long to tackle. I'm literally in the same room with my friend and we can't see buildings right away. Can take 15-60 minutes to everything just spawn.
I similarly have noticed that it's buildings made out of logs. Though the initial log buildings we made at the starting zone around our downed helicopter were still visible even much later into the game. I suspect it's something to do with how the game sends and receives data corresponding to world cells and the new crafting system.
1. install WeMod
2. Enable WeMod software when you run SOTF
3. Play multiplayer, if you have a save file, click Continue
4. Now if your friend is the host, and you cant see the structure that used log to build (treehouse, wall, etc) , you can press F10 first to enable the console command selection. (You will hear a chime or bell when clicking on F10, make sure the WeMod software is running)
5. Then, you click F1, a list of console command will appear
6. Last one, search the keyword sync, i think its Vsync, i will double confirm this because currently im at work, just key in vsync.
7. If you have a good PC with a good graphic card, you will notice the tree surrounding your area or the previous tree you cut will be disappearing, and the structure will be rendered in front of your eyes!
If you have a bad PC, prepare for lag.
8. If all structure is load, save and then play! Enjoy!
Here is what we noticed:
We tried importing the structures because the previous save is way back and if the solution is to go back to this previous save, we might just move on from the game.
If you need our saves, we would gladly share it to you, both the working one and the broken one.
We tried most of the suggestion listed here. Here is what we tried:
edit: Just noticed you have a thread for multiplayer bug with and email. I sent you the save files.
For me, it helped to simply go into a cave and when I ran from this back to the building, everything was loaded correctly.
Would any of you and your friends be willing to try some things to help debug this? Player log files from both the client experiencing the issue, and the host will help us see where the problem is, but we need some additional debug information that the normal logs don't provide.
If you are willing to do a couple steps to set up logging, and send us the player.log file afterwards, here are the instructions:
Both Host and client have to do these steps
1. Open your steam library, right click Sons, select properties, and in the 'general' tab add "--logging" without quotes to the Launch Options field.
2. Locate the config file for the game: To find your config files; paste the following into the windows file explorer: %localappdata%\..\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest
3. Open the Text file in that folder named 'SonsGameSettings.cfg' and paste the following into it (Click the space right after any '},' press enter, and paste)
{
"Name": "RuntimeStructureDbLogVersionChanges",
"BoolValue": true
},
4. Both host and client load the save, and both players stand idle after loading in. Wait several minutes to see if the structures ever load in.
5. After waiting a while you can close the game, and send the player.log files, as well as saves from both host and client to evan@endnightgames.com
Done! I just sent the email.
My brother and I just sent over some log files of this with save files and can send some video grabs as well if that will be helpful. Thank you so much!
