taking out the effigy system is disgusting

I thought I was missing something and just played the game for hours with friends, only to realise the system is completely gone???? I would've refunded if I had known this was the case, and never would've bought in the first place.

It must not have been that important to you. If it was enough to dictate if you'd buy the game or not if you wouldn't have been playing "hours" before noticing.

Maybe assumed you had to kill or eat a certain amount of cannibals to unlock them. If I recall in the original game your sanity had to be lower to be able to start crafting him.

I read in another post that you can put a stick in the ground and put a "fresh" head on the stick. That's about it.

Doubt it, the pre-edited post sounded like he played for hours without noticing then all of a sudden realized they weren't in the game. Still insane that this would be the deciding factor for him buying the game or not.

Can confirm you CANNOT do this. Closest thing to it is a skull on a stick/Bone furniture. You can however kill a high ranking cannibal cut off his head and shake it violently at members of the tribe to scare them off.
