I assigned mine to F, so it is just like the first game.
ah cool thx, might have missed it...
Like JahJah said, you hold the inventory button to have a quick backpack selection.
In order to add items to that quick backpack menu, just go in inventory, then right click let's say the bow, then right click the backpack, and that's it, it is added!
You can also remove items by right clicking the item in question that is on the backpack (the one in the inventory after you right clicked on it).
You can now select the bow by holding the inventory button and then clicking on the bow that is hanging on the outside of the backpack.
You can basically do this with many items, but not everything, like it doesn't work with the utility knife.
Even better, assign stuff on 1-8, since number keys doesn't seem to be used for anything.
I will never understand why devs do this in many games, to removes good and functional features from a sequel that was in the first game.
Simply go in the inventory, hover the item you want to assign, and press the number you want. That's it. You will see a little empty square on the top right of the item's name, that tells you what number is assigned to that item, if it is assigned, and also that it is available to be assigned. If it doesn't have that little square, it can't be assigned, but only a few items are like that.
Good job devs, this is what players need, devs that LISTEN.
