Breaking a stick in half

I have a stick in my hand and I want to break it in half. You are suppose to be able to just put sticks in your hand and then snap them in half by looking down with them in your hand. When I do that it just puts the sticks in the ground... Any help?

if you break two sticks or so in the same spot it makes a camp fire, as far as I know there is no use for broken sticks, in some crafting animations that use a full stick you break it in the animation then use the two halfs

I can't seem to get the breaking of the sticks to work. I have tons of them but my character only wants to put them into the ground, won't break them at all. Built a ton of other things, I just can't seem to get this breaking of the sticks to work to save my life.

lol, yeah that knee breaking stick thing doesn't happen for me. So weird I guess keep trying until I figure it out.

Its annoying, I have so many things built but I can't figure out how to snap wooden sticks in half to save my life? Annoying as hell. Is it a bug or are we just doing something totally wrong?

U have to look down with stick in ur hand and ull see the command

With the stick in hand you need to look down and then right click to switch the "mode" and then you then will break the stick on your knee and place it on the ground.

Figured it out eventually, for me I had to press the right mouse button a few times before the left mouse button, was strange. Thanks for the comments everyone

While I was trying to figure it out I just got the AI guy to make one haha. Built a few myself though aswell to make sure I could do it.
