It may "run" but its not going to be smooth gameplay. You can try it and refund if you wanted. You may need to edit / tweak the config or .ini file and lower setting even more.
Given that the minimum is 12, no 8 will not be enough. It used to be enough, but there is so much data in games now that its unreasonable to expect them to run smoothly on what was considered "good" RAM 10 years ago.
