I heard that there will be mods which players can make, is this true?

Probably.

Probably so. I wan't to increase the Max Player Slots for the Server to have more players around. I know one of the modders that made one of the Increase Slot Mods for the Previous game.

Good chances. I mean the first game has mods. Why not?

Mod support is confiirmed from the start on. One of the best changes, since "Souldrinker" did the Mod API @ The Forest, without any support from the devs. Hopefully some real modders get in touch with it, the "support" could be very poorly, let´s see.

Unity Mods are easy to make, even without official Mod-Support. You can use Melonloader or what i prefer BepInEx

I will no be playing until they are supported.

The game runs on a Unity engine. There are other games inject mods into it with no issues (ie. 7 Days to Die). I keep checking Nexus Mods to see when support starts.

There's currently already a trainer out called WeMod, you can download it for free.

But neither ML nor BepIn do support the latest Unity version, for now ;)

Would be no problem at all when the developer would've decided not to use IL2CPP and actively make the game mod unfriendly.

For me their stance is clear: They either despise mods or are unable to create a functioning game without the little gains they get performance-wise with IL2CPP. (I would never sacrifice modability for easy +5-10% performance but instead would optimize my C# code for that +5-10% performance boost)

that's just misinformation. I haven't found a game yet that requires WeMod pro. That just adds some extra features

Yes, Sons of the Forest will most likely have mods introduced at some point as the developers have already addressed this particular question in an interview. Although this feature hasn't actually been added yet, we can expect it to arrive during the game's early access period.
