Xenophobia is a dislike or prejudice towards people of nations other than your own. I'm not exactly sure how that ties into not wanting women in a game? Unless you're simply calling them out for being xenophobic on topic of being weird / odd.
As for actually having the option to choose? Yes, will never be a situation where I'm against having the choice.
You can identify as whoever you want, in fact you shouldn't assume the gender. ;)
