Record from VTS with transparency?
Long shot that anyone will know, but here goes.

I am aware of the 'transparent in capture' option, and that is NOT what I am looking for. 'Transparent in capture' requires VTS to be running the whole time.
A long time ago I had the genius idea for my layout to run in Live2d with my Model. This is fine most of the time, except, the rare times I use a 3d model. During such times, I am running all of VTubeStudio for just my layout, sacrificing system resources when it could just be a layered in animated png fed into OBS.

So, is there a way I can use VTubeStudio to record my layout while preserving its animation and transparency? Due to how it looks, chroma keying it is not going to be the most successful. However, if nothing else works, it may be what I have to go with. (I would have to lose some of the transparency for it look decent that way)

Transparency data is sent from VTS to OBS. It's just a question of whether or not you can save/export transparent video with OBS. Very few video formats support transparency, but if it's .webm or .mov, it could work.

I've never tried this myself, but it sounds like it's possible.

Take a look at this: https://forum.shotcut.org/t/how-to-export-with-alpha-channel-in-obs-studio/32322/5
