Just out of curiosity was wondering if there are better ones and how do they compare.

As someone who has been making Vtuber avatar for years and have virtually tried all other alternatives -- Yes. There's reasons why this app is widely used with big names creators, mainly because how accurate it is in representing Live2D avatar in most fluid fashion. VTS was the first who popularized iPhone tracking in indie scene where previously it was an exclusive thing to Vtuber agencies.

But again your mileage may vary, one app might not work best on your system. I suggest that you should try all other options and try which one works best for you. But if I asked to choose I would favor VTS any day.

The only downside I have about VTS is the resource usage when running the virtual webcam. Having to capture the window means I risk having menus show up on my stream.

VRoid Studio is a character maker, it's not a Vtuber puppetering app like VTube Studio. No comparison there

for that you could crop the capture window just around your avatar (with enough wiggle room for when you move), if that crops out the watermark, buy the watermark removal dlc to support the dev regardless (dont know if you have to, id do it just for morale reasons)

That's for Vroid avatar making boss....it's not for Live2D capturing so...you can't even compare that.
