Unreal Gold

Want to run this in 16:9
Hi- just installed all my Steam games on my new PC and I can't get this to run in anything other than 1280x1024, but I'm sure it used to run in widescreen. Any ideas how I convince Unreal Gold to give me the option to play in 1920x1080?

re start the game in open gl

it's not needing to change to open gl,
Go to X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\unreal gold\System\Unreal.ini <- open this with Notepad.
Search for [WinDrv.WindowsClient]
Change this lines:
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1090
FullscreenColorBits=32
Saving done now you can play @1920x1080.
Actually the absolute easiest way to do this is to open console by pressing ~, type "setres 1920x1080x32" without quotes, of course.

Lay off the alcohol Mr. Lahey and you will be able to figure it out :)

I think there is a setting for aspect ratio as well, if not aren't you just stretching the screen.
I really recommend checking this out http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/ they/he has developed drivers to play the earlier unreal engine games in direct x 10 and I believe provides a small program to fix the widescreen correctly and all that. I found it very useful for Deus Ex

^Probably because he made a typo and refzem copied it. 1090 instead of 1080. Simple fix though.

the DirectX 10 Renderer for Unreal doesn't work with the 227 patches.But from what I've seen in the oldunreal fourms,they seem to be interested in intigrating the renderer into the patch.

If it doesn't work with DirectX, it might work with the software renderer (which is way better than most software renderers of its time).
