Unreal Gold

Unreal Gold

UNREAL
I still think this is one of the best FPS games ever made. I love the fact it's not just constant fighting and love the exploration aspect of the game. The atmosphere, in no doubt helped by the wonderful score, is unlike any other FPS game I have ever played. I love the variety in levels but they still seem cohesive. I can't write about this game without mentioning the A.I. This was released before Half-life, and as much as I love that game, the A.I is just wonderful here, especially the Skarrj.

Very disappointed that Epic have effectively forgotten this game, it's an absolute classic in my eyes. Anyone else agree?

Cool! It's great isn't it.
Same. My favorite game. A childhood game too. I hope they make third Unreal story game instead of Unreal Tournament

I know, Epic seem to have separated themselves from one of the best franchises in PC gaming. I don't care much for multiplayer, so I would love a new single player Unreal game. Probably never gonna happen though, much to my chargrin.

Awarded your reply because you also want another Unreal singleplayer game :steamhappy:

What did you think of Unreal 2, if you have played it. I quite enjoyed it.

I played Unreal Gold on Steam for 550 hours but never tried Unreal II Awakening yet. I will play it sometime ☺️

Just be warned, the walking is a lot slower, and the game is quite different from Unreal. I'll let you discover it for yourself.

Fun observation: u2 compared to u1 is reminds me q2 compared to q1. When the first game was some mystic exploration - no clear plot, some strange places, strange enemies. And the second game is a set of military missions and everything is connected through some story. In both cases the new game still kinda cool, but also different.

But just in case someone ever asks me - please make a new singleplayer game based on unreal-1. :)

PS: "operation: Na-Pali" - a must-play classics for U1 fans. Welcome to add more titles to this list.

Unreal is still my favourite game of all time, played it when it was first released and currently half way through my 5th play through.

It's definitely one of my favourites. I can't choose one! Too many good games.

Yeah, fair comment, it's hard for most people to pick one game out from all of the great games over time.

Just installed UT GOTY version, the oldUnreal patch and operation: Na-Pali. Thanks for the shout as I'd clearly missed this in the past. I'll give it a go once I've finished my latest Unreal play though.
