Unreal Gold

Unreal Gold

Is there a "modern" patch for this game?
As in, to support 1080p, OpenGL, disable all mouse smoothing, accel, etc. I remember there being something similar for Quake but I can't find it.

How do I prevent the game from resetting my FOV every time I enter a new checkpoint/area?

If using the 227 patch, there's an option under options>preferences>Game and then Adjust widescreen, your FOV won't reset during a new level.

Ok so is it possible to also make the mouse normal on the ESC menus too? And the FOV slider is pretty much useless, I set it to 120 through the console and I'd rather do that every load than deal with an FOV slider with no number.

Set the GUI mouse to whatever you fancy under the options.

You can edit your FOV in the game's .INI files.

Open User.ini. Set "MainFOV" to you desired setting. Note that if you go into the option menu in game it will change this value rounding it to the nearest increment of 5.

So if you set it to 100.388858, it will round it to 100 if you go it to the options menu in game. And yes it only gos out 6 decimal places.

I tried the MainFOV INI setting but it doesn't even seem to work. Using the fov command works but it keeps resetting every new area. I haven't tried the patch yet but probably will.

The patch is pretty much mandatory in order to play multiplayer, since when Gamespy was shut down, Unreal lost it's main/official masterserver, but the patch updates the masterserver field to one of the main community hosted masterservers, to enable continued online play.

Nathan, I think instead of submitting unhelpful/incorrect information, you should check the links provided linking to the 227 update to see for yourself.

Also, getting back onto the topic, 227J is getting very close to release, hopefully it shouldn't be too long now!

the 227 patch is not offical.it's not made by epic themselves. the final patch is 226b

No, it's not official, but Epic's last 'official' version is no longer supported. Epic are the ones who allowed Smirftsch to work on 227 in the first place, the same way they've given him the go ahead to make a version for UT
