Any purpose to the dodge

I think it's kind of neat that you can double tap directional buttons to dodge, but it doesn't seem to serve any practical purpose. It messes up my aim and the cooldown means I can't spam it. Is there something I'm missing?

nah that's it, it just lets you dodge, i kept accidentally pressing it constantly, but you can turn it off in the settings

It obviously depends how urgently you want to move yourself out of the way of imminent danger.

You can move faster using both running and dodging than just running. Useful in SP and MP. For details check here section 5 - Dodging[unreal.fr]

its not very useful for singleplayer, its more of a thing for multiplayer but of course most people wont ever play that so you can disable and disregard it.

I know more people on MP of Unreal than i know people who stick to SP.

I have used dodge a number of times and it has saved me from a few close calls with titan rocks or any rockets that got to close.

Dodge is like one of the basic moves in the game.. why are you all talking about disabling this? Maybe because I spend thousands of hours over the last few decades in multiplayer but still... dodging is fun, faster and allows you to get to some places you can't get to with regular jumping. (talking about side dodging into slopes and stuff bunnyhop style)
