FOV Distortion Problems

I just finished installing the game and when I learned that I had to install a patch as well, I did so.
Everything seems to work until I start playing.
The field of view is REALLY distorted, making one small area of the center of the camera very far away, while the rest is just blurred on the sides, it's like I'm zoomed in on one specific spot or something.
I already changed the settings for my resolution of 1920 x 1080 before I started playing.
And Google isn't showing any search results for a problem like this, neither are these Steam discussions.
And at the moment, the "OldUnreal" site is currently under maintenance, so I can't access the "Q/A" section of the wiki.
IDK what to do next, I just wanted to play Unreal for the first time.... :(

I can't solve your problem, but I can say I don't experience it. You can change the FOV with the "widescreen" bar if you've got the old Unreal patch installed. Maybe that'll solve it.

That zoom effect sounds like it could be a scaling issue. You could try right-clicking on the Unreal.exe, select properties and try ticking the box in the compatibility tab that overrides high DPI scaling behaviour.

Idk if that's in the game, or in the local files.
