Unreal Gold

In game framerate not unlocking?
Hi guys, I'm trying to play the game, using patch 227i from oldunreal

I've tried the game in both DirectX9 and OpenGL with 32 bit colour depth, I've also tried the Kentie D3D10 renderer and every time I go in game my fps feels like what is locked at 30

Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

Unreal Gold's default Frame rate limit with the oldunreal patch is 60fps for DirectX8, DirectX9 and OpenGL which is exactly what I was getting when I started playing the 227i patched game, so it is unlikely to be anything to do with the oldunreal patch.

Check your frame rate by going into the console via Tools --> System Console, then type:- stat FPS

The frame rate will then show up on the game screen. Change it to whatever you want if it is not set correctly. Use the FrameRateLimit setting in the Rendering options panel.

Mine came locked to 60. Anyway try going for advanced options and disable or increase frame limiting. I forgot what it's called. :D

i don't know if the patch has anything to do with it, all i can say is that using any renderer in the unpatched game, i have unlimited FPS, and i actually had to limit it in the nvidia control panel as FPS over 200 speeds up the game drastically. maybe you have the framerate somehow limited externally? or maybe the patch changes things, that's all i can think of unfortunately
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You are a hero. I feel 12 again. Although it was probably like 25 fps at the time, 144 feels just right now lol.
You can change it in unreal.ini
FrameRateLimit=
