M1 Garand aperture sight looks horrendous
I have had this discussion before. Other games like Brothers in Arms Road to Hill 30 do a lot better job with portraying the rifle in game. It looks like I can put my pinky finger through the front sight. Countless games do this including Hell Let Loose, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. Isn't this supposed to be a simulation style warfare game? I love the game but small things Iike this can really make it into a simulation.

When your eye is up to that style of sight the rear aperture appears to enlarge while you are looking through it. The issue would be the game having to change the 3D model on the fly to make the aperture tiny when not aiming and opening it up while blurring it while aiming.

That's too much work so they just make it really big all the time and call it a day.

I find that many of the sights on the weapons have the eye relief too far back, and therefore, the gun sight obstructs the view of the target... nearly impossible to use iron sights at anything beyond 50 yards or so. Some of the weapons are worse than others, a few and simply un-usable.

I usually opt for a scope'd rifle and drop things as they drift over the horizon.

This becomes more apparent with widescreens, at most engagement lengths I almost have to hold-breath religiously in order to be certain about making rifle shots past 100 meters. Though to me this is just a sign from God that I am not close enough to the fight and need to get into my 'A' game.

The Thompson is the worst for this. The top sight is like a full inch too big.
