Need a return to base option for lanes so as not having to bail out or crash
aircraft when no longer plane is useful.

I agree with returning to base. Also friendly aircraft carriers should have 1 takeoff lane and 1 landing lane instead of 2 takeoff lanes and should let us regain dead crew members and get an entire new plane upon landing instead of instantly refuel load and repair midair
this could work for friendly airfields as well

Is this a joke? There are very clearly marked refuel/rearming points on the map, why not just use those?

Ah no, I misunderstood OP, I thought he was talking about refilling ammunition in aircraft. Yeah I've been asking for a swap feature for a long time, I gave up on it though. The only thing you can do is pause and switch factions, then pause and switch back again. That allows you to swap without committing suicide.

interesting ive never done that before usually were only allowed to switch sides once my full squad dies but maybe its different on modes other than realistic

But planes need better controls first, as of right now I'll never fly a plane in this game, it's terrible.

I play without realistic flight controls and never really had flight control issues except when they used to stall mid air when reduce throttle to around a 3rd but that has been fixed a while ago. One aircraft control suggestion i do agree with is WD to tilt the planes wings left or right also a suggestion i have is maybe 3rd person shift to zoom in while using aircraft tanks etc

Also, using Standard settings for planes, the planes need to be able to dip down much further. Currently there's some arbitrary limit to how for you can aim your nose down when bombing or strafing at high angles.
