Can't join friend unit?

Playing private games that I am hosting with friends, can't join squads my friends are in however. Just clicking it turns the "Join *friend name* bar yellow

i tried the other day and was unable to join my friends squad from a server i hosted as well

Same here. It got quite frustrating after multiple attempts. I convinced two frens of mine to play this game with me, but now they kinda wanna quit because of this bug. We could not have the coordination we wanted if we cannot join the same squad or crew.

Same. Convinced a friend to try this, and while he enjoys it, not being able to be in the same squad is bit offputting.

I've seen people say it's possible on Reddit but ♥♥♥♥ me if I know how to do it, I'm fine with the game being essentially co-op but I'd like to play in the same squad with other actual players at least.
