[Bug Report] Steam Deck Audio Output is broken

Tried to play the game on steam deck with the headphone plugged in. But the game audio always outputs from the built in loudspeaker.

Restarted Steam & console multiple times - doesn’t help
Checked other games and SD’s system audio sfx - headphone is working as expected

It also appears to me that after launching ER2 on SD, it will also broke the volume adjustment ability from the system level, so the actual output volume will always be fixed no matter how you increase/decrease volume — even after terminating ER2 and launching other games. Weird to me.

Hello,
We are unable to replicate your issue, for us and for some players we asked inside the Discord server it seems the Steam Deck switches correctly to the headphones and the volume adjustment works with no issue.
Can you try to:
-Verify integrity of ER2 game files
-Verify that you don't have any software that is overriding the sound management of your system

Also make sure not to launch ER2 using wine, proton or other emulators but to make it run as a default Linux/Steam OS software

This is happening to me too . I just bought the game and opened it up and the sound only comes out of the steam deck speakers , barely! I can hardly hear it . I’m also hooked up to a dock for the deck and my sound should be coming out of my external speakers. Mind you I can hear all my sound effects from my steam deck super load because I have the volume on full blast because I can’t hear any easy red 2 game sounds . I’m really upset about this and the game it set as green checkmark, which means it’s fully verified for the steam deck, and it should not be feel like we were miss lead and it’s been over 7 months since this has been an issue for other so I would hope you guys would have fixed it by now . Please fix this issue with valve thank you !

I temporarily fixed the game brother I hope you still want to play the game on the steam deck. One please own a dock . Start up the game undocked once the game it started up and you hear sounds wait for menu to pop up and plug in you dock . The screen might be messed up but just unplug and replug in still you fix the graphics. And your good to go hope this helps you play a game you paid for !

Same issue. But I play with airpods. This game output always on steamdeck speakers. But Steam OS sound is in headphones.

Same issue. Sound output in Easy Red 2 always steamdeck speakers. But Steam OS sound is in headphones. (I use AirPods). This is the only game where that happens. Need help

I have had this issue. Won't output audio to Bluetooth headphones. Only plays from steam deck. I found if you pair after starting the game it usually works. Havent tried headphones since the latest update today.

The update dropped yesterday but anyway, good to hear you found some kind of workaround.
