complete chapter without dying

Does progress towards the achievements count if your character doesnt die but surrenders? Achievement states without dying but is it without respawning or dying?

I have made it to the last 2 objectives on an Op overlord mission 3 times and for 2 of them my character surrenders even though I am on my side of the front line and actively progressing towards the objective. I have had many do this over the time ive played and it really doesnt matter unless I am going for all achievements.

It's for victory in each mission having only spawned in once.

Right, if so than there's an element of luck to it if youre not confining yourself to a vehicle. Requiring a spawn-in isn't exclusive to dying.

There was no reason for my character to surrender, had full ammo and health and lots of bandages and food/meds. Seems like an oversight or a way to kneecap that achievement for many attempts
