What worked for me was saving it as a .png file, then typing the filepath in the box provided in the editor. I played around with the sliders for minimums and multipliers until it looked about right.

Hey I appreciate the response thank you!
I dunno if it's universal but I had to "flip" the image file before importing to get it to show up right in game, if that makes sense.

With the GIS data the EU publishes, it's possible to get data per meter...trees show up as stalagmites in the terrain and have to be smoothed off and replaced with in game trees.

I'm fooling around (never done a map before) with data on the terrain between Clervaux, Rueler and Marnach, Luxembourg. At 0:730 Dec. 17, 1944 two US infantry companies, "E" and "F" supported by eighteen M5 light tanks of "D" Co, 707th Tank Bn, launched a counterattack to retake Marnach, where survivors of "B" company were thought to be holding on against a German infantry assault. They were all part of the only reserve force the 28th Infantry Division had, and the regiment they were part of, the 110th, was hardest hit on the least favorable ground of the divisions three infantry regiments, by a big German attack, but at the time they didn't know how big.

In reality the lead elements of 304 Panzerregiment, 2nd Panzer Division were on the way up the road to Clervaux from Marnach. and the two infantry companies ran right into them.

My old man was in "E" company that day. It's fascinating the detail involved in these maps, I know more about the circumstances surrounding that disaster of an attack than he did.

See this is badass! This is exactly what I'm trying to do is remake some old WW2 Operations! I appreciate the reply, everything helps!

Hi, I am struggling to bring in heightmaps into the editor, I keep getting error loading texture (002) message. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

1. Find the actual .jpeg(or other format) file on your PC
2. Click copy file path
3. Open the Easy Red 2 Map Editor then press ctrl+v to paste it in the height map box, remove the “ at the beginning and end of the pasted file path then it will work.

That’s how I do it!
