There's no reason to say everybody who plays this game is a moron lol
Wow, that makes no sense. Do yourself a favour and delete your hypocrisy, so you can try to look less ridiculous.
You guys are all too sensitive when someone throws logic at you. I have no issue playing games with non physical steering wheels. Haven't any of you heard of building physical strength? Instead, you all complain about getting a workout and getting stronger. Sad, for sure.
That soy...
And I just bought this game the day I saw that discussion, because, logically, you should read BEFORE you buy. I've been waiting for this game to release, as long as it's been in progress. Just saying, I'm not digging through discussions to attack people. I only talk in discussions about games I mean to purchase. I don't troll, I give an opinion.
It's not about becoming exhausted after some time. The way your hand can be moved around in any other vr game is different from how a wheel works. And it's ok if it's not needed, but you're basically calling us idiots for asking for support. Also, most of the things you said are completely absurd. Building strenght to play a game? Do you think having your arms stretched in front of you builds physical strenght? For real? And even if it does, do I really need to build up strenght in order to play a game? If I want to workout I play something else, not a game called "car parking simulator".
I don't care what you're capable of doing. I don't care if you're good enough to play racing games with your motion controllers. I see a game where I have to drive a car and I'm asking for a wheel support. But nope, we're all idiots to you and you think you're throwing logic at us based on your beliefs. You're good enough to play games with different controllers? Cool, i'm so happy for you champ. I'm a noob who needs a wheel to drive car in games. But guess what, just because you're that good doesn't mean we need to play like you do.
By the way, i tried driving a car with motion controllers in thief simulator and it was awful.
Maybe it's easier in this game but, since i've already tried driving this way, i'll wait for a wheel support before buying it.
So yeah, i'm still asking for a wheel support. If you like driving cars with motion controllers, good for you.
i was about to buy this game on sale and googled whether or not it has wheel support. i'm not even sure if i'm interested when it's 40% off. imho, "intangible-object controls" are the worst in vr... i've logged thousands of vr hours but they just don't work for me. for example, in no man's sky, i thought i'd love the "reach out and grab the HOTAS that only exists in vr-space", but it was the worst thing i've ever flown and i just wanted them to leave standard flatscreen-style gamepad support in the vr version. i don't even care that i couldn't use my hotas. i was just mad at how impossible it was to aim my ship with the loose and intangible stick, no matter how securely i was resting it on my leg.
i've tried at least one "fake-wheel" racing game, and it felt even worse than that did. i spent more time checking my hand positions than i did with my eyes on the road, and it showed. i'd rather tilt a WiiMote in NFS Carbon or Mario Kart.
before you say "this isn't a racing sim," yeah, that's exactly why i was interested; it looks like a wackier arcadier alternative to the staunchly serious vr racing games i've gotten a bit bored of, with a free-roam and casual multiplayer mode, complete with the ability to roll down the window and go on a chill drive if that's how i choose to spend my time.
if it was on the pico4's standalone vr marketplace, i'd buy it as-is and at full price (without wheel support or anything), just to show a decent vr racing game to my coworkers, and i'd probably enjoy it well enough for what it is when i played it myself. but if i'm running it on my home pc, i'd rather beamNG myself into a wall.
honestly the game looks really fun for what it is. i'm not saying it's a bad game or that there's anything else wrong with it whatsoever. if it had wheel support, even without force-feedback capability or anything, i'd buy it in a heart beat, especially on sale.
i'm sure it's a lot of extra work for what is probably a small dev team, but if they did add any kind of wheel support, i feel like the vr racing game scene is currently lacking in enough ways that a game like this might manage to pull in a lot of people like me who are getting bored of "strict racing sims" (and all of their bugs) and/or who are looking for something more casual/gamified.
heck, i might go ahead and buy it anyway, just for the free roam!
but even if i do, i'll be *****ing about the lack of wheel support the entire time.
on the bright side: it's a racing game that i can't pull a "no vr no buy" on
Would be great if it has been added, or was going to, without it definitely seems pointless outside of the quest.
