I'm I'm unfamiliar with the anime will I still enjoy this action RPG?

Game looks cool but like a lot of this style Im not into anime so I don't want to be lost if I play this game.

And if anyone else can recommend anime styled action, action-rpg games where you don't have to watch the anime/show/movie/etc to know what's happening that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Edit: I tried the other mode and it seems like it would be worth it with the sale price, it's more comprehensive, has it's own story, and seems like it can stand on it's own without knowledge about the show. If you wanted to know more about the anime story without watching the anime, you could run through abyss/story/tutorial mode, or even just the intro of it, just don't expect too much from it.

As for good anime games unrelated to shows, Nier Automata and Nier Replicant, Little Witch Nobeta, Gunvolt series, Ys series. I'll throw kingdom hearts series in too for consideration, it's pretty anime the more it goes and they're really solid action rpgs even if you don't like the story.

I've played Nier Automata already and loved it!! Haven't played the sequel yet.

Code Vein looks interesting but it's tagged as a souls-like which unfortunately is a no go for me.
