Why did no one notice Reg is a robot?

Since I'm sure anyone playing this game has watched the anime or read the manga I figured I'd might as well ask here.

When Reg was at the orphanage and also walking around outside or doing delving why did no one ever ask why he looks different or has metal arms and legs? The only one that ever brought it up was Leader and Reg lied saying his arms just turned into that one day. No mention of legs or why he looks so different.
Are we to assume that people in this setting can get illnesses that turn them metallic or something?

Keep in mind that there was something on Lyza's letter that looked a lot like him. Likely the Orphanage staff realized it, but they didn't do anything about it because of some request from Lyza.

Sure that could be true but remember Reg was up living in the orphanage for about 2 months walking around letting everyone see him and no one mentioned how he looks other than that one time Leader did. The average person living there wouldn't know about any deals Lyza and the Guild or Orphanage would have made.

in the anime, regs excuse as to why he had metallic arms and legs was that its been like that for as long as he can remember, and its foreign technology. i assumed that maybe its normal in the shows universe for people to have bionic prosthetics, and thats why nobody questions it.
if that is the case it would make complete sense, and bionic prosthetics dont sound very implausible in the universe it takes place in. but of course thats just my inference

Yeah true if its common enough in the shows setting that bionics are a thing but his excuse was also that him and his sister were ragpickers in the slums and she died and he has no more family. Very doubtful someone like that would afford bionic arms and legs.
Plus it was never established that bionics exist in the made in abyss universe. The closest thing we got is that tail that Bondrewd used.

Its also a first grade relic. Not something that would be left with an orphan.

in the Anime Reg explained that its foreign Technology. basically telling leader that its some kind of prosthetic, with in a universe where relics exist honestly doesnt even seem too much of a fairytale. with that explanation he probably doesnt really have a reason to suspect anything cuz everything else outside form his arms and legs is very human

question, if you live in a place and a person which lives there grows close to you and turns into a good friend and turned into a part of the community, would you really care what he/she is?

ofcourse, for outsiders would it be weird but for peoples in the made in abyss universe which live around the abyss is stuff like that an all day thing, i mean. peoples die there on a daily basis, they handle death completely different then we do aswell. am surprised that you not wondering about that. ^^

Yeah it's true that people that live around the abyss would be use to weird things like this.
Still though if Ozen was telling the truth the Guild would destroy relics that would be too amazing and ruin their monopoly on the abyss. She could have just been trying to scare them but she doesn't like to lie to kids so who knows.
If Reg was wandering around in the city for 2 months I would have figured SOMEONE would have seen how strange he was and told the Guild but maybe yeah no one did.
Was just something that was stuck in my mind when I learned he was up there for 2 months. Lots of time for someone to notice hes not exactly human.
