How deep can you actually dive?
Whats the deepest you can actually dive in this game? I'm interested in getting it but, if you can only go say until the 5th layer then the game ends that's kind of a bummer.

That wouldn't really work out, because the way the game works out our character is a legit cave diver. unlike Riko who cant go back to Orth, we can, and we need to, to stock up and sell relics. If we go on our last dive and see the village, we wouldn't be able to return. So it wouldn't work.

That's fair from a gameplay standpoint, however it would be interesting if there was an option to go on a last dive. Say like a permadeath endgame mode.

Just gotta make the game a roguelike instead. Roll a new character every time you die.

I mean to be fair, the game does say your mission is "become a white whistle".

I hope they make another more comprehensive game someday that lets you go further down, replacing Orth with Iruburu, explaining to the player that it's a point of no return.

Maybe when the anime ends. They're not about to put the last layers into a game before they even finish covering them in the anime.

There are a few spoilery problems involving Iruburu. But an even bigger issue is that the Manga isn't even passed the 6th layer, I would want the option to go for a final dive as well, but wouldn't the source materiel be quite limited?

I'm hoping for a final dive DLC lol

Considering the state of the game, i think it's realistic enough to keep it at 5th layer, as said above, your goal is to become a White Whistle, so its ok that we mantain that limit. But, hoping that they actually listen to our calls and fix the problems first (or even simply making a new, faithful, game), i'd love to have some "Last Dive" content, but, since not even the source has explored too deeply into that, i think we'd have to wait.

I just finished the game. It allows you to take your Last Dive, but it doesnt do anything, just a cutscene then you can start in Orth as a white whistle and do the quests and stuff you missed

Well thats a bummer, wish there was a special DLC or addon that there was to the game where there was a layer 6 to explore.

There might... there seemed to be a few changes at the ritual side in post-game... Prushka is missing in post-game, her room inaccessible. Bondrewd now waiting outside the ritual site, he acknowledges your white whistle status unlike other NPC that still think you're a black whistle, and he talks about filling up a form before you can last dive... the last dive portal is inactivated and can't be used. Certain time is rewinded... You get to met Reg/Riko again but in a different perspective, this time meeting Reg instead of Riko first... (same story but different view point)... Which means, Riko, Reg and Nanachi are still at the 4th layer while our protagonist went past them into the 5th...

The whole 5th area is almost a quick fast forward in the anime itself so the game doesn't have much details on them either and looked rushed... and 6th layer happens almost all inside the Iruburu village for the whole anime season for Riko and Reg and didn't shed much light on the outside of that village except a few scene in Season 2, the rest are flash backs and fillers... there really isn't enough contents for a game imo... The manga is still exploring the 6th Layer and talks about the ring in the 7th Layer that only a few white whistle witnessed. The 7th layer is the currently known deepest layer and Hello Abyss Team has not reached there yet... It's starting to be more of a filler (Flash backs and doing arcs of other characters) than actual exploring the abyss in the original story to be honest, so for the game itself... probably a DLC is enough to cover everything up to the 7th layer with only a few new maps added... but only after the Manga reaches the 7th layer i bet... A new game with Iruburu or Camp Number 5 being the base ain't a bad idea, but only if there's enough contents to explore... DLC that cuts the ties to the rest of the upper layers, inherit the stats and items and let you do your last dive and final few quests on Iruburu/Camp 5 seems the best bet.

The 6th Layer is point of no return, due you ceased to be human on ascending, so unless the game can come up with an idea on how to do it (like Bondrewd's way of sacrificing another person's life or Reg's way of not being a human at all), there really isn't a feasible way to link it with the rest of the layers. Even Ozen tells a tale of how her head skin mutated from diving and ascending too many times, and she had to make that weird hair style to camouflage it... so the curse isn't only happening in the 6th layer, but it's certainly strongest within that layer... and that's why they separate the layers by the curse... Well, as we have seen some white whistle replacing parts of their bodies with relics... and the 7th layers seemingly have robot life forms... there might be a chance our game's protagonist (Mugenkyo 夢幻卿) may came back up as a cyborg... lol!

An idea I had would be that we could ask the Sovereign of Dawn to give us a way to avoid/be immune to the curse. It states in the game that they have discovered how to overcome the strains of ascension so it wouldn't be too surprising if that was an option.
Getting a white whistle feels like the end of the game.
Realising you can keep going is for me the New Game +.
And I am waiting to be worthy. As this game has tried my patience.
