Limber Scales? Where to find?

I'm guessing you only get this from fishing with the rod's since back in Hello Abyss, you can obtain them from the area where Ozen made Riko and Reg survival for 10 days as survival training

Yes, at the dark areas of the 2nd layer, small fish in those glowing purple ponds can drop limber scales.

I hit layer 2 last night so I get to experience the joy of the difficult maps today. Oh boy...

I already hate everything that is Layer 2, instead of the easy-to-kill and meat & bones dropping Man-Toyers you can kill endless because they respawn behind you and out of screen for making the Picax, you get spikey hedgehogs that you need to wait after attacking so you don't get damaged from the spikes and flying useless humming bird-bugs that drop nothing but food items that only benefits your hunger (and as health items I guess since the Scrambled Eggs gives 120 health which is super OP for healing)

Yeah, that's only hoping you don't get attacked in the first place, it's so annoying killing them all and them eating my up pickaxes (durability also) that I'm not even gonna bother killing them unless I'm on an ledge and have to kill them with the butterflies also.

Layer 1 was annoying but still manageable because of the respawning Man-Toyers, now it's just full-fledged hell.

These scales are so irritating. You need so many. It seems like they can drop from any of the fishing spots in layer 2. My strategy is to go to fast travel to layer three, go to Edge of the Abyss, and then fish there and Terminal Pond, and then fast travel out.

I only unlocked layer 2 like maybe a few hours ago and it's annoying asf trying to explore it.

So now I'm just rushing to unlock the region with the fishing spot so I can make get the scales to make the better pick and upgrade the two new sets of clothing (more specifically the Cook outfit since it's got better armor than the Scarlet outfit)

do the quests and get to moon whistle, then you can fast travel up to layer 3 and backtrack from there

I just did all my fishing on the small pond with three fish on corpse weeper nest. It took awhile. lol. BTW the fish you need for scales only seem attracted to lugworms. :D

Only thing that's making me frustrated is the RNG, the four fish in the Edge Of The Abyss first time game me 2 scales but second time when I reloaded a save point due to dying to the giant Ottobas, I only got 1 scale

I'm not trying to speed through this game, warts or not... so I'm doing 100% guild quests. I can do Moon Whistle but it will be the last thing I do in layer 2.

That's fine too. Honestly getting up through layer 2 is very easy.
