This is a disgrace to Akihito Tsukushi
If you want to support the author just buy his books, don't give any money for this garbage slop, no effort was made to respect the creator of Made in Abyss.

The game is pretty good, you just have to get past the riko and reg part. That part is not like the rest of the game at all.

this thread used to be named just "this is a disgrace to the author" and got edited to be tsukushi by name probably to save face that they didnt even know the author, moreso when people ignore the fact tsukushi wrote for this game actively; dismissing it with such negativity means 'disgracing' the author all the same

is it worth 60$? probably not, sure, games shouldn't be 60$ anyways but that's a whole different can of worms

there's some definite design choices that make one raise an eyebrow, the infinite pests right behind you, some weird ways you can get stuck out of food/weapons to fight with, removed survival features (which honestly would've only expanded the previous problems)

but as far as things go in getting to explore the world ourselves? and see the areas we only see in passing as an observer to riko and reg's descent? or even different landmarks that are part of the layers and have yet to be seen in the manga or anime? that's the prize. that's what's made it worth it for me. that's what tsukushi wanted to share with us.

that and dying terribly because you make one wall climbing leap too many and hit the ground like a sack of potatoes.

This is a great game for a developer who's only helped with games and done one on their own, a visual novel... but it's also... well there's a lot they have to learn also if Chime wants to keep making their own games. This game is barely one step past indie dojin. I do think pricing it at 60$ is leading to people being extra harsh as well.

Well the man himself said he had supervised the game so he appears to be OK with it.

The game has a decent framework that can easily be improved upon if they want to release DLC or more content.

Unpolished and rushed is the feeling i get from the game, but its a far cry from unfaithful or bad, unless you'r just angry it doesn't have enough degen content from the manga, In which case: Get better tastes.
