The orb Piercer one is removed from your inventory when you turn in the quest unless you equip it first. Current thought is this is actually a big and that quest is supposed to involve the missing relic (there is one notebook entry nobody can find) and be a key item so you can't equip it.

You sure? One Thousand-Men Wedge adds 300 attack to your character on the status screen. Equipping two gives you +600 attack.

Edit: I went to test it to make absolutely sure for myself, and they do appear to stack. I attacked the same enemy three separate times, with no Wedge equipped, with one Wedge equipped and with two Wedges equipped, and compared the damage on the first hit.

I mean, they don't stack as items in your inventory, their stat boosts do stack.
