Am I screwed?

So I just got toward the end of layer 3 and currently have the certain character accompanying me. I seem to be stuck in the area where you get them the herb they want, but I have ZERO meat (plenty of salt) and my character is starved so I can't leave. Am I doomed? or is there something in that spot you can actually cook?

sounds like one of those soft locks to me, they suck but theres not much you can do about it till they decide to fix it in a later update (if it ever does)

You are doomed, it is better to reset if you can't hunt for meat, the best way to handle the missions is to keep up moving and not waste your weapons on common enemies. Layer 3 is the most difficult area to traverse, so bring a bunch of food and weapons, but most importantly, speedrun the whole thing so it doesn't become hell later on.

also a tip i found was to always carry salt on you, so you can attack any animal and be able to make some simple meals that arent bird eggs
