Weather Mod - Maaaybe?
Weathers are fully functional, did a live demonstration on Discord.
They were a part of the removed survival mechanics.

Weathers include Fog, Heavy Fog, Haze, WhiteOut, Rain, Heavy Rain, Thunder, Snow, Ice and Petals.
Maybe can be restored to full functionality with edits to .uasset flags. Can definitely be preset to always load on any given map (Ex. Always rainy on first map).

Thoughts?

Since these weathers were designed as a part of the survival mechanics, I guess they have several effects on player's character, such as temperature change. I wonder if such effects were there.

As we can see the game currently offers multiple cloth sets for different environments, these must be a part of surviving as well.

If it's possible to partially restore the survival system, even if it's only temperature management, then that would be huge. Because this gives all those outfits a meaning of existence, otherwise players only need one single set of outfit.

Yes, they are indeed there. There's temperature variables and the Rain weather check if the player is "Dirty" before changing the boolean to "false".

Interesting, the rain washes you clean. I can imagine the original design and passion, yet they don't have the strength to implement it, that's so sad.

I am very sure the reason the game was downsized was not because of manpower or budget, but simply because Nintendo wouldn't allow children peeing and pooping in their console.
A lot of the things I've been uncovering are about 80% finished, some of them aren't even properly turned off, it looks like they quickly stripped the game down a couple months away from launch.

But why would they remove the whole survival system for that? Shouldn't they only remove the forbidden part?

This game needed about 50 more people working on it, no switch port, and about 300m more dollars of investment... but we got what we got. :D

Because it's all very tied together. Some enemies even have leftovers of peeing and pooping. There's leftovers of wetting your pants and pooping yourself, which is how the Strength-sappers (the moths that spawn whenever you climb) were supposed to spawn; as a punishment mechanic for peeing/pooping your pants, not as a spawner after 150 seconds elapse.

There's some leftover tent, campfire and cooking pot references, temperature meters, mood meter among other things. They just stripped the game down mechanics wise to its barebones in a hurry.

Guess I can start hating Nintendo now.

Maybe it was the other way around and it was Sony. (Joke comment btw)

Sony Rep: Extreme violence againt children? That's ok, leave all those brutal death scenes there... But ugh, that poo and pee thingy, that's kind of sexual, remove it!!! And those girls better have nothing under those skirts! 😆
