Setting up a server
My friends and I recently purchased this game and I am intrested in setting up a server. Can anyone direct me to a good tutorial on how to do this since many tutorials have conflicting ways of setting one up.
Edit: I am intrested in a dedicated server not a LAN

- Open ports
- Whitelist stuff in your firewall
- Press host server in UT2004

Depends What do you want to do. How do you want to play on it. what do you like? You gotta figure that out. Then talk to a 2k4 admin but dont do every thing he says do how you want it cuz end they end youll be playing on it. UT2004 edit tool. Use it....The best advise I can give you is learn it experiment with the game and back up your stuff. You will need 50 gigs on your home computer just to play with editing. Good Luck try wiki if you want their is no guide for ut2004 you just have to know it.:UT2004flak::UT2004udamage::UT2004adrenaline::UT2004health:

I'd rather play vanilla UT until I am more familiar with the game.

The wiki was largely unhelpfull because it seems to skip several steps where it assumes the user already knows most of the material.

If you are playing LAN then you don 't need to open ports. It will (probably) just work out of the box if you host from inside the game.

Unlikely, I watched this game for the last 3 large sales and it didn't go on a daily deal of a flash sale. So buy now and enjoy :D

Thank you for the response. I've tried using the host dedicated button before. But I was unable to launch the game again to test it. Is there any way around that or am I doing something wrong?

RunServer.bat

If you can work out how to make Webadmin work then all you need to do is open up a browser and type 127.0.0.1 or the ip of the computer hosting it.

To download the dd server:
