Unreal Tournament 2004

CD Key from Boxed Edition of UT2004
I own the Boxed Edition of UT2004, but I've sadly lost the CD for it. Is steam ever going to make so that I can use my CD-Code from the Boxed Edition to activate a Steam Copy? I'd hate to pay for the same game Twice, even if it IS UT2004.

I'd try searching a lil more for it, and in the case you can't find it, UT2004 is only $14.99...
Totally worth it, if you ask me.
i saw on amazon the anthology for alot cheeper, £1.99 which is about $3 from what i remember

Yes, I agree, UT2004 is worth it, but I'm a bit strapped for cash right now, and I'd rather not buy a game I already own. Maybe if I goes on sale for 66% off I'll pick it up, but my hope is that Epic/Valve reads this (and similar posts) and actually makes it so the CD-Codes from the Old Boxed games work. I have the box with the proof of purchase, CD Code, Atari stickers AND the Second CD that teaches you how to use Unreal Ed, but I can't find my First CD anywhere. :angrytiger:

Maybe I should look harder.

I mean, I can still play it because I've downloaded the No CD crack, but I can only do so on my old, slow, PoS Vista Laptop, and I'd rather do so on my nice new Asus Q400A.

The No CD crack is legal if you own a legitimate copy of the game, Right?

Too bad. Buy it again.

Why should I? It still runs fine, I'd just enjoy the CONVENIENCE of having it on steam. Until I can no longer play it, or until the steam copy goes 66% off, I see reason to buy it AGAIN.

Dare I ask why?

Why not simply enter the cd-key into the register manually?
Patching the game to version 3369 bypasses the first boot CD check.

32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unreal Technology\Installed Apps\UT2004
64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Unreal Technology\Installed Apps\UT2004

There should be a value called CDKey.
