I would waste my time about installing the game through proton because Microsoft has been breaking trust from me. There are Linux users out there that played the game on Linux and I seen it at my owned eyes, also I'm not having input latency with Unreal Tournament 2004 on Linux actually (Due to running 64-bit and OpenGL).
I got a 64-bit version from UT2004 editor's choice edition from 2004 not from 2006.
So the step by steps that I made allows me to play on Linux or Steam Deck.
Thanks for letting me know.

Like I said again about Windows, due to lack of trust I'm not a Windows user anymore.
I heard Microsoft is pushing for bitlocker which people will lose data if they need a recovery on the main storage (a.k.a. C:\ drive).
But I enjoy running on Linux better for my security, yes when it comes to Unreal Editor, Windows is recommended but due to Microsoft pushing harder for Microsoft account, copilot, and bitlocker (data risk depending on the recovery), I can't trust Windows primarily anymore.
Allowing me to install the game on Linux is not a mistake.

Windows users are against Linux users alright (But some aren't).
Due to dropping some compatibility, going back to fullscreen mode from windowed mode will permanently froze the game until you reboot your Windows PC (However, it's possible to relaunch the game to fix that temporarily).
I never seen it happen on Linux/Proton just on Windows (8 or later).
Of course you can close it out and re-open it to go back in fullscreen (Be aware it's not simple).
It's just I got some issues after installing the game until I found the solution in order to play the game either 32-bit or 64-bit on Linux, so you wtf. And I'm also not appreciate your bad thoughts on your thread.
This quote is absolutely not true, not everybody thinks 64-bit version is trashed, only some may think it is.
Because some people did tried 64-bit version (I've seen it on YouTube). Some may like/love it and some may not. Everybody has different opinion.
As for 'trusting' MS...what exactly are you trusting them with? I mean, Win 10 can be hardened pretty well at this point.
Your Bitlocker concerns are erroneous; MS isn't "pushing" anything and only the truly paranoid (stupid, IMO) would encrypt their main drive. For the claims of people hating on Linux, at least they are generally right in regard to gaming. I mean, why bother when you can just dual boot.
The 64 bit executable for UT2K4 worked fine for me on Win Vista, 7 (skipped 8) and 10.
This quote is absolutely not true, I'd just answer what I send this to community since August 8th, so that way people and I can remember my steps in order to play UT2004 if needed.
I don't remember got myself bitlocker enabled, but Microsoft is trying to force Windows user to enable bitlocker. Also, yes UT2004 does work as well on Windows (That's usual) with either 32-bit or 64-bit, also you forgot Windows XP Professional x64 edition.
Unreal Tournament 2004 on 64-bit was released for a reason.
Because Windows XP Professional x64 edition is a 64-bit version of Windows XP Professional released in 2005 and Epic Games wanted to make sure we got flexible way to play UT2004 on Windows XP like before.
No, people hating on Linux are not right actually (Your quote was untrue), because some people including myself have to switch to Linux for a security reasons (Whether it's perfect or not).
Security reasons why people switch to Linux.
1. Microsoft pushes for Microsoft Account
2. Microsoft lied about Windows 10 (Be a last version of Windows and staying with an older versions is security risk) (Not good)
3. Microsoft pushing for their recalls
4. Microsoft keeps updating a lot to ruin people's fun (Yes, there's a reason)
I chose not to dual boot, because most of my devices don't meet the system requirements for Windows 11 and Microsoft will continue to outmode older devices (What a waste of money).
I need to save up money for my property.
Also, I'm appreciate about Reddit and Discord (I have my Discord account).

It runs great (With a little bit of stutter due to using Linux of course).
People usually prefers 64-bit version with OpenGL (Even Windows user prefers it).
If you got a problem with 64-bit just an audio issues, then go see this link.

This quote is incorrect, I have answers I want First of all.
Second of all: You can't make me trust Microsoft, because Microsoft's trust is done since 2022, it's in a record, most importantly I stopped trusting Microsoft. So that's a pump breaks here.
