Unreal Tournament 2004

Unreal Tournament 2004

Server Master Shutdown
This will affect everyone playing multiplayer. With the master server going down, you will need to know the IP to join the server you want. After the set date, you will no longer be able to browse the server you want to play.

There is currently a workaround in early BETA including OpenSpy. Id recommend giving this a try for the master server shutdown. Ill potentially be making a steam guide on this issue in the near future. Hope this helps you for now

Literally willing to burn their own legacy to try and brute force their way to the top.
Did they really need to nuke it off all storefronts too?

Fortnite revenue was almost $6 billion last year. But they can't afford to keep a server open for one of their best classics?

Not even that, they can't afford to just leave it on sale anymore too.

End of an era.

Take me back to the Xfire days.

Is there any workaround yet, maybe like Game Ranger?

Edit: Glad to see OpenSpy swoop in to save the day!

That, or UT2004 community start doing what UT99 did and make their own master server.

well this is bringing us back to the old days if we require an IP to link to an server

As far as to my knowledge. Every Unreal isn't supported with GR. We're less likely to have support since gameranger hasn't hand any updates in a few years.

Edit: Looked it up, the only unreal game that's supported is unreal 03. RIP.

I can't believe Epic is doing this. Do they think that by killing off the old classics, they can force us to newer stuff like Fortnite?

At any rate, many thanks to OpenSpy for the alternate server. I tested it out and it loaded right up. Only issue is it only found about nine DM servers.
