Instagib CTF - Colussus
I'm trying to do this on Godlike and it's absolutely mind-numbing. Some of these CTF maps are really easy, but this is the first one that has taken me more than 3 attempts. In-fact, I've done it for hours and still haven't even gotten one flag capture. Can anyone do this?

They create openings for you and you for them. Theres also different variables that is at play during a match like if your teammates are close enough to support if you get the flag. Where are the enemies? Is your team close enough to be able to pick up the flag should you die? Etc etc

In regards to commanding your team, I prefer to just always have them attacking because in my experience that created the best outcomes for a possible capture. Takes a long time and there is no guarantee it works for everyone because like I said, there is so much at play at any given time. Just have to hope for the best circumstances. Especially in Instagib.

I cant find anyone who can do a simple airborne catch of the BR ball with the translocator .... seems like no one uses that weapon anymore, and its my top fav weapons too!

I've never played online so I've not needed to gain those skills.

It is possible. All of the maps are. Just some maps are just harder then others. Thats part of the fun though.

Of course it's possible, but I can't do it, so I'm curious who can.
There are three maps I've attempted now that I can't even get close with.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The spawning turns it into an exercise in tedium. Sometimes I try to avoid enemies if I'm at their base because if I kill them, they're just going to spawn around the corner or I'm going to encounter them as soon as I pick up the flag. Also, friendly AI are dumb enough to run all the way from the enemy base back home if our flag is picked up, even when setting them all to attack which is also what I do. Frustrating.

I say drop the single player bot practice and come play online with some of us. I could teach you a thing or 2 about playing bots and online players but you'll never improve playing single player bots alone.....

my mistake , I was not trying to tell you what to do Mr. Muff .... I myself played offline for a good 6-7 years and in the time I missed some of the best times to play online from 2004-2010ish I had no internet to play online so I have played lots of single player offline mode and if I hadnt interacted with other players online back in 2010, I would of never known I could uncap my max 90 fps for my game/computer. The entire time I played offline there was many config changes I was completely unaware of. Now 12 years later I know the ini files inside and out, I can run and admin my own server, and I was clever enough to do my own config settings and some coding as well. Offline I never would have learned anything if I hadn't been interacting with online players. I am but one of very few left that hold and is willing to share what I know and maybe in the not so distant future there may be no one left to play/interact/learn from online in UT2k4 anymore....... Will not intrude on you again. laterz
